Ecstatic Dance
Ellie Mahy and I are so excited to invite you to join us for Ecstatic Dance.
It’s not about looking cool or cutting fancy shapes, it’s the practice of getting in touch with how you feel in your body, moment by moment, and letting it express through the dance. In doing so we move through emotions in a healthy way and find joy in just being alive!
I will guide you into the practice as we begin to explore movement. Ellie’s carefully curated music will take you on a journey from a more melodic warm up to a higher energy crescendo before bringing you back to stillness,
Dancing can bring up a lot of nervousness for people, but don’t worry, this passes really quickly. Everyone else is nervous and doing their own thing too.
An ecstatic dance practice can bring insights into situations in our lives and help us to work through emotional ups and downs. It helps us to find our authentic centre and shake off anything in our bodies that we are ready to move on from. A very fun form of therapy.
Please wear comfy clothes you can move in and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated as well as a yoga mat and blanket for the guided meditation.
